Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in retail accounting to join our team in New York City. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions and general bookkeeping tasks, and assisting with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close processes.

Retail industry accounting experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and reconcile cash receipts, disbursements, and weekly bank transfers
• Manage accounts payable and credit card processing
• Prepare and review supporting workpapers for journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare financial statement closings on a monthly basis
• Support external advisors on financial statement preparation and tax requests
• Identify and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3–5 years of professional retail accounting experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Required)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Advanced skills in all Microsoft applications
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently

Salary: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
