Job summary

PVH Potomac Valley Hospital is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage department budgeting, month-end close, and financial reporting. You will coordinate with department managers to ensure robust internal controls and accurate GL postings.

The role requires a BS in accounting/finance or related field and 3 years of accounting experience; CPA is preferred. Office-based position with standard 40-hour weeks and opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationship with Department managers to coordinate and monitor financial controls over cost centers according to approved budget guidelines.
  • Coordinate accounting and financial processes to maximize efficiency in daily operations; ensure internal controls are followed.
  • Maintain general ledger to submit accurate financial data during month-end process.
  • Lead and coordinate month end variance analysis.
  • Oversee month end general ledger reconciliations.
  • Oversee the work and development of assigned Accounting Department staff.
  • Delegate projects/duties to staff to meet department goals.
  • Develop and submit analytical financial data as needed by management.
  • Assist in compiling financial support documentation for budget/audit purposes.
  • Assist in coordination of the budget and external audit review.
  • Train new personnel and monitor progress.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Support performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Oversee duties of specialty focus and monthly financial statements.

  • 13. Support performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • 14. Ensure duties of specialty focus are completed accurately and timely (i.e., monthly financial statements, consolidated financial statements, bonds, cash flow projections, etc.)
  • 15. Oversee functions of assigned Accounting Department staff.
