Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations. This role partners with internal stakeholders to strengthen controls and provide meaningful analysis for business decisions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and strong Excel and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting analyses for month-end close.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and investigate variances or reconciling items.
• Gather documentation and provide support for internal and external audits.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, and financial analysis.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to resolve accounting questions and support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and recurring workflows.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

This role partners with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial controls and provide useful analysis for business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and supporting analyses for month-end close.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and investigate variances or reconciling items.
• Gather documentation and provide support for internal and external audits.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash reporting, and financial analysis.
• Partner with finance and operational teams to resolve accounting questions and support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and recurring workflows.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification preferred but not required.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
