Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or audit background.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing for external audits and coordinating with tax advisors.
• ERP implementation or system transformation experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel and familiarity with mid-to-large-scale ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Job description

Vaco is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant for one of our legacy clients. This is PE-backed, highly-acquisitive environment (3-4 transactions in the last 3 months) with a goal to scale the company exponentially across multiple regions.

This role with be the "go-to" for several Staffs on the team and be responsible for high-volume, complex accounting including intercompany transactions and consolidations. We've received great feedback from candidates we've placed with the organization - definitely more an outgoing, fun group.

Compensation: $95-105K

Day-to-Day

• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process to ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial results.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses to maintain data integrity.
• Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements for management and external stakeholders.
• Continuously improve close processes to shorten timelines and enhance efficiency.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Partner with external tax advisors to provide accurate information for federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Lead data migration efforts from legacy ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of transferred data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system integration and proper configuration of accounting processes.
• Develop best practices for automation, reporting, and internal controls within the ERP environment.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase efficiency across the accounting function.
• Mentor and support staff accountants and team members, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Leadership to provide insights that drive decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred).
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or audit background.
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience preparing for external audits and coordinating with tax advisors.
• Hands-on involvement in ERP implementation or system transformation projects strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with mid-to-large-scale ERP systems.
