Job summary

SPS Companies, Inc. / Steel and Pipe Supply is seeking a thorough transactional accounting expert for its Manhattan, KS corporate accounting team. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations, cash movements, and compliance with sales tax and ASC 842 lease accounting.

You will support audits and help maintain accuracy and speed in a fast-paced environment. The position requires 5 years of GL and AP experience, solid Excel abilities, and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for month end close, including recurring entries, accruals, and payroll entries.
  • Process daily cash movements between all accounts and companies.
  • Responsible for sales tax filings, exemption management and sales tax audits.
  • Assist with financial audits throughout the year.
  • Reconcile and post Concur expense reports and handle all credit card requests.
  • Enter leases for ASC 842 accounting, reconciliation and general ledger entries.
  • Responsible for fixed asset reconcilement and reporting and maintaining the BNA system.
  • Back up other desks in the accounting department.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Quarterly payroll filings

What You'll Do
