The Role

Thrive Market is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Senior Accountant to join our team. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, performing daily accounting activities, and supporting the financial close process. The ideal candidate should have an advanced understanding of financial statements and a working knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls. This position reports to the Associate Director of Accounting and collaborates with other senior accountants.

Responsibilities

1. Manage monthly financial closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
2. Reconcile eCommerce activities weekly.
3. Support the annual audit process.
4. Lead accounting tasks related to cash, debt, and accruals.
5. Participate in special projects and process improvements.
6. Help implement internal controls through policies and procedures.

Qualifications

1. At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience; Big 4 experience preferred.
2. Strong knowledge of GAAP.
3. CPA or progress towards certification preferred.
4. Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUp, Sumifs).
5. Analytical with ability to handle large data sets.
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
7. Clear communication skills.
8. Experience in e-commerce or CPG is a plus.
