Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for lease and financing transactions.

• Prepare variance analysis and management commentary.

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day corporate accounting. The ideal candidate will personally manage journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly analysis, while partnering closely with business and finance stakeholders across the organization. This is not a purely supervisory position; the successful candidate will be directly involved in the transactional and analytical work of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries related to lease and financing transactions, including new lease bookings, amortization, interest expense, and payment activity
• Perform monthly reconciliations of lease/financing sub-ledgers and schedules to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with responsign
• Conduct monthly financial analysis of leasing and financing activity, including impacts to the cash flow statement and balance sheet (right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, and related accounts)
• Prepare variance analysis and commentary to support management reporting
• Coordinate with business unit stakeholders, FP&A, treasury, and other accounting teams to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end close
• Support internal and external audit requests related to lease and financing accounting
• Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline reconciliation and close activities
• Assist with ad hoc projects and analysis as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., [SAP/Oracle/NetSuite]) and lease accounting software a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage transactional accounting work directly (not just review/oversight)
• Strong communication skills and comfort coordinating across business and finance teams
• CPA or progress toward CPA a plus, but not required
