If you want to build something real, visible, and genuinely transformative, you’ll feel right at home here.#### **What’s happening at Vay*** First to roll out vehicles in both Europe and the USA on public roads without a human being inside & currently the 2nd largest commercial, driverless car fleet in the Western World.* We’ve partnered with Kodiak to bring remote-driving technology to autonomous trucks in the US, showcasing our ability to integrate our system into heavy-duty commercial vehicles and expand the applications of our tech across the US.* We’ve completed over 150,000 trips so far and are busy multiplying our Las Vegas fleet just to meet demand!* **...And soon we’ll be expanding across the US & Europe **#### **Why this role is exciting*** **Build, don’t just maintain:** Help develop and scale Vay’s accounting function during a transformational period of growth, creating the processes and controls where none exist yet.* **Complex, multi-entity scope:** Own core close responsibilities across multiple entities and countries, with real exposure to IFRS consolidations and technical accounting.* **Shape how finance works:** Use AI and automation to modernize the close, and contribute to systems, audit readiness, and management reporting as a trusted senior member of the team.#### **What you’ll be driving*** **Own key month-end close functions:** Handle journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, consolidations, intercompany, and foreign currency accounting across multiple entities and countries, and help shorten the close cycle.* **Build and improve accounting processes:** Develop new processes and reconciliations for areas without established procedures, and strengthen existing processes, internal controls, finance systems, audit readiness, and management reporting.* **Navigate technical accounting:** Research and conclude on accounting treatment for new or complex transactions with no established precedent.* **Document procedures and policies:** Create and maintain clear documentation of processes, controls, and accounting positions so the team can run them consistently as we scale.* **Automate the close:** Identify and help implement AI and automation to reduce manual month-end work.* **Partner with FP&A and the business:** Maintain and reconcile accruals and review monthly budget vs. actuals.* **Support audit and tax:** Prepare accurate audit deliverables and state and regulatory tax filings.* **Guide junior team members:** Share knowledge and support less experienced teammates on close tasks and complex transactions.#### **You might be a great fit, if**You have 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or high-growth tech preferred), with a strong month-end close and audit preparation experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup or tech environment* Comfortable making sound accounting calls and building processes where no standard procedure exists* Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize close processes and internal controls for efficiency and risk management* Experience with IFRS reporting preferred; strong US GAAP background welcome* Hands-on experience using AI or automation to streamline accounting work, with good judgment on when to review outputs* Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP; strong Excel skills* Detail-oriented, proactive collaborator who can influence stakeholders and navigate ambiguity##### **Nice to have:*** Big 4 experience / Active CPA* Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations across countries* Experience with inventory management* Experience with VAT and German GAAP (HGB)#### **Why choose Vay** A global team of smart, motivated people from 30+ countries who love tackling hard problems and turning bold ideas into reality.
