Qualifications

• Experience with large data sets and detailed financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Government or public-sector accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Education, government administration, or audit background is highly valued.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are accurate and complete.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close activities.
• Support financial reporting, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Analyze revenue, expenditures, balance sheet accounts, and other financial activity.
• Perform system balancing and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as an accounting resource to internal departments and stakeholders.
• Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and supporting materials.
• Provide guidance and training related to accounting procedures and financial systems.
• Participate in financial system testing, upgrades, and implementation projects.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen processes and internal controls.
