Job summary

Ascendo-Resources seeks a Senior Accountant for our South Miami office near Coral Reef / Zoo Miami. You will oversee month-end close, general ledger activity, and intercompany accounting across multiple entities, ensuring U.S.

GAAP compliance and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of accounting experience, expertise with ASC 842 lease accounting, fixed assets, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and month-end close.
• Experience with multiple legal entities and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel: PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS.
• Experience with ERP systems (QBE/ Dynamics) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.

Senior Accountant – South Miami, FL

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team near Coral Reef / Zoo Miami. This role will oversee key general ledger activities, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations across multiple legal entities.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and ASC 842 lease accounting, along with the ability to identify discrepancies, improve processes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Support financial reporting, P&L analysis, and audit requests.

• Manage fixed assets, lease accounting, and intercompany transactions.

• Investigate variances and resolve accounting discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate documentation, accounting policies, and internal controls.

Position Details

• Salary: $85,000 annually + 10% discretionary bonus

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Work Arrangement: Fully onsite; no remote or hybrid option

• Location: South Miami, near Coral Reef / Zoo Miami

• Reports To: Accounting Manager
