Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced computer knowledge including Excel; comfortable with mainframe systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide general ledger accounting analysis and reconciliation as required.
• Produce month-end closing schedules and account reconciliations.
• Create journal entries to support activity for general ledger.
• Coordinate analysis for management, including departmental reporting.
• Complete vendor/cash disbursement analysis.
• Complete required tax and regulatory reporting (sales tax, property tax, escheats, fees, 1099s).
• Address and resolve accounting issues and provide guidance as needed.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant independently defines and provides pertinent financial analysis to management and is responsible for financial decisions within management-assigned authority. The Senior Accountant ensures that GAAP is followed through financial statement presentations.

• Provide general ledger accounting analysis/reconciliation as required.
• Produce month-end closing schedules, account reconciliations, i.e. cash summary/bank reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inter-co transactions.
• Create journal entries to support activity for general ledger.
• Coordinate analysis for management, i.e. departmental reporting.
• Complete required vendor/cash disbursement analysis.
• Complete required tax and regulatory reporting, i.e. sales tax, property tax, escheats, airport authority fees, 1099’s.
• Address and resolve accounting Issues and provide guidance as needed.

Secondary Duties:

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Bachelor of Arts/Science in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Minimum of five (5) years in accounting, auditing or financial analysis experience.
• Possess advanced computer knowledge including Excel proficiency.
• Must be comfortable with mainframe accounting systems.
• Must have working knowledge of accounting documentation.
• Must be a self-starter requiring minimum supervision.

Physical Requirements:

• Normal office environment where approximately 80% of work is performed in a sitting position with the remaining time walking and moving around the office, stores, and manufacturing areas.
• Filing duties require typical bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, etc.
• Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination for keyboard operations is necessary approximately 80% of the time.
• Normal or corrected hearing and vision are required.
• Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
• Must be able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
