Ledgent is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing manufacturing finance team. You will report to the CFO and drive accuracy in financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls, while partnering with operations and engineering to improve cost accounting and reporting quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Proven experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and lead key components of the close process.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper classification of transactions; review balance sheet accounts and reconcile items.
  • Assist with inventory accounting, overhead rate development, cost analysis, and variance analysis; support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance; document schedules and respond to requests.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, inventory control and engineering to improve financial reporting quality; drive process improvements and system enhancements.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company's continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of financial reporting, month-end close, manufacturing accounting, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a desire to make an impact within a dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead key components of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper classification of financial transactions.
  • Review balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
  • Prepare intercompany transactions and support consolidation activities.
  • Assist with financial reporting for management, banking partners, auditors, tax advisors, and ownership groups.
Accounting Operations & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support annual audits and financial reviews by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to requests.
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings, corporate registrations, and other compliance activities.
  • Participate in annual R&D tax credit studies, insurance renewals, and bank reporting requirements.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking.
  • Manage prepaid expenses, accruals, reserves, and other complex balance sheet accounts.
Manufacturing Accounting & Business Partnership
  • Support inventory accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and related financial analysis.
  • Partner with the Cost Accountant to assist with overhead rate development, cost analysis, inventory reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, purchasing, inventory control, and engineering teams to improve financial accuracy and reporting quality.
  • Contribute to improvements in manufacturing accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls.
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and streamline the financial close process.
  • Assist with ERP enhancements, reporting improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Help document accounting policies, procedures, and control processes.
  • Recommend and implement improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and financial transparency.
Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
