Overview

One of our clients who is a leading designer, marketer and distributor of home appliances and commercial kitchen appliances is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join their growing team in Glen Allen, VA (hybrid schedule). This Senior Accountant will play a key role on a lean corporate accounting team, owning general ledger activity, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who can independently prepare journal entries, manage fixed assets and CIP, and partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate accounting treatment of transactions. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on GL work, digging into variances, and leveraging ERP systems to support high-quality financial reporting while working on-site with the team Tuesday through Thursday.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of monthly and quarterly close processes
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions
• Lead fixed asset processes, including monthly entries, capital project spend approvals, and tracking/reporting of Construction in Progress (CIP) balances
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial results and provide insights on variances and trends

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on general ledger accounting
• Experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations in a corporate environment
• ERP experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or relative working experience

Salary and Schedule

Salary: $90,000-$105,000 (flexible based on experience)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday onsite, Monday and Friday remote

Hiring Method: 6 month contract to permanent full-time hire (can be sooner depending on performance)
