Job summary

Confidential in Frederick, MD is seeking a Senior Accountant to work closely with the Controller and take ownership of key accounting, reporting, and financial analysis responsibilities. This hybrid role requires 4 days in office and 1 day remote.

You will lead month-end close, prepare statements, support budgeting and variance analysis, work with AP/AR and other departments, and contribute to audits and internal controls while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' of professional accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including complex journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare financial statements and management reporting while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash reporting, and short-term cash forecasting
• Partner with Project Accounting, AP, AR, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Support internal/external audits, internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP/IFRS compliance
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting, while serving as a technical resource to the accounting team

Education
