Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant manages day-to-day accounting activities related to business operations and assists in month-end close, as well as supports the support services manager with staff workpaper review and other ad hoc requests. This position performs basic accounting and financial reporting functions, such as: general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform basic accounting functions, such as: general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting .
• Assists the Support Services manager with review of staff work and any ad hoc requests such as additional analyses for the finance or operations teams.
• Assists the accounting team in the day-to-day operations of accounting and finance in a fast-paced start-up healthcare environment
• Performs regular analysis of business outcomes vs prior period actuals and budget
• Performs bank reconciliations and assists in month end close and fixed assets tracking
• Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
• Performs basic data analysis to report recent and historical financial performance
• Assists in the planning and implementation of various business processes in order to improve and support business processes and activities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Skills:

• 2+ years of public accounting experience
• Proficiency with standard office software applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office ®)
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with General Ledger (GL) /Accounting software (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus)
• Strong problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use technology to collect, manipulate data, determine significant findings, and present information clearly
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining accountability under strict deadline

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $95,000 per year.
