Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our professional services team in Florida. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financials, supporting the monthly close, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

You will partner with senior leaders to deliver financial insights, streamline processes, and support budgeting and cash flow planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in professional services.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and revenue recognition.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Document and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Coordinate and file monthly sales tax filings (Avalara experience preferred).
• Liaise with external factoring companies, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Support implementation and enhancements of accounting systems and process improvements.
• Act as a business partner to senior leadership and department heads, providing financial insights and recommendations.
