Job summary

CV Resources, Inc. partners with a fast-growing biotechnology company to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant to join the General Ledger team.

This role intersects accounting, Clinical Operations, and FP&A with a strong focus on clinical trial accounting and delivering clean, timely financials to leadership. You will own monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and trial accruals, while preparing disclosures for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in biotech, pharma, or medical device with clinical trial accruals is a plus.
• Strong understanding and application of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and reconciliations for clinical trials and related accounts.
• Own accounting for a portfolio of domestic and international clinical trials.
• Prepare clinical trial disclosures for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances and present findings to leadership.
• Support SOX compliance and internal controls; manage audits.

CV Resources has partnered with a fast-growing biotechnology company to identify an experienced Senior Accountant to join its General Ledger team. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, Clinical Operations, and FP&A, with a strong focus on clinical trial accounting and delivering clean, timely financials to leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and reconciliations covering clinical trial accruals, leases, AP/AR, accrued expenses, prepaids, and license fees
• Own accounting for a portfolio of domestic and international clinical trials
• Prepare clinical trial–related financial statement disclosures for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances and present findings to leadership
• Support SOX compliance and internal controls as part of day-to-day operations
• Manage internal and external audit requests and help resolve any control findings
• Stay current on US GAAP (including ASC 606) and help assess and implement new accounting guidance
• Mentor less experienced team members and advise colleagues outside accounting on complex issues
• Write and maintain SOPs and drive process improvements for efficiency and scalability
• Partner cross-functionally on ad-hoc projects

Must-Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Background in one of the following:
• Private industry within biotech, pharma, or medical device, ideally with clinical trial accruals experience and a month-end close environment
• Public accounting (Big 4, national, or regional firm), ideally with biotech clients
• Strong understanding and application of US GAAP
• Experience with financial data analysis and financial reporting
