Job summary

Real Estate Personnel, Inc. is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate assets in the Denver metro area.

The role emphasizes independence, collaboration with property managers, and periodic in-person team meetings in a remote-friendly setting. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of CRE accounting experience, solid GL and financial reporting skills, and the ability to handle multiple entities while driving process

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in commercial real estate.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with multiple properties or entities.
• Understanding of acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and year-end accounting.
• Strong Excel skills; AppFolio experience is a plus but not required.
• Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger accounting, balance sheets, and bank reconciliations for multiple properties and ownership entities.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and budget-to-actual variance reports.
• Handle accounting related to property acquisitions, dispositions, and refinances.
• Lead year-end accounting, including adjustments, reporting, and coordination with outside CPAs.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations, tenant true-ups, and annual 1099s.
• Oversee accurate recording of A/P, A/R, capital expenses, loans, and owner distributions.
• Help improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and reporting processes.

We're recruiting an experienced Senior Property Accountant for a boutique commercial real estate management company overseeing office, retail, and industrial properties throughout the Denver metro area.

What You'll Be Doing as the Senior Property Accountant
