Versique Executive, Professional & Interim Recruiting is seeking a Senior Accountant in Cottage Grove, MN to support day-to-day accounting and the month-end close process. The role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring ledger integrity, with collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong exposure to general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated professional with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries while supporting month-end and year-end close activities.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage multi-state sales tax filings, payments, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and internal reporting packages.
• Analyze financial results and identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to documentation requests.
• Collaborate with operations and other corporate departments to support accounting and financial initiatives.
• Provide ad hoc accounting and finance support as business needs arise.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process. This position is responsible for journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting support, sales tax compliance, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Salary Range: $80K - $90K/yr. base salary + bonus.
