Position Summary

Bell & Associates is partnering with a growing equipment rental and distribution company based in Cleveland, OH looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), assisting with month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Prepare financial reports, schedules, and variance analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records for assets, liabilities, taxes, profit and loss, and other financial accounts.
  • Assist with working capital and cash flow reporting.
  • Lead accounts receivable collections and support timely customer payments.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable financial regulations.
  • Prepare special financial reports and analyses as requested by the Controller or CFO.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of company and client financial information.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3–5 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Understanding of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
