Job summary

AVNA is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the organization's accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support month-end and year-end closes. The role includes financial analysis, mentoring junior staff, and assisting with audits and budgeting.

Responsibilities include preparing statements, GL management, month-end closings, reconciliations, tax filings, audits, and cross-functional collaboration for financial decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
  • 5–8 years progressive accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • CPA, CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and tax regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate journal entries.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare tax and statutory filings as applicable.
  • Assist with internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and improvements.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support decision-making.
