Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Accountant with solid auditing experience.You will play a vital role in ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency through accurate financial reporting, account reconciliations, and collaborative problem-solving. As part of the accounting team, you will prepare and analyze financial statements, create journal entries, perform account reconciliations, support audits, and contribute to process improvements. You'll work cross-functionally to translate business data into accurate financial reporting and help ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Duties

• Responsible for creating journal entries via interpreting business data and translating to accounting ledger dimensions
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.
• Perform reconciliations of accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with accounting team to provide innovative approaches for continued improvement in process efficiency and effectiveness.
  
  

Mandatory Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record of accounting principles and regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 2+ years of Public accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have a positive, team-oriented attitude .
• Willing to be onsite for the first 90-days then hybrid with 8 days/month onsite in Schenectady N.Y.
