Job summary

Divisions Maintenance Group is seeking an accounting professional to ensure internal controls and accurate financial reporting. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and drive company growth.

The role requires GAAP proficiency, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accurate, timely results. Expect exposure to month-end closes, audits, and tax reporting in a busy corporate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process month-end close including journal entries, G/L reconciliations, and budget vs actual analysis.
  • Analyze financial statements and prepare accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.
  • Assist in audit preparations and policy development.
  • Prepare federal, state, and local sales tax reporting and manage the 1099 process.
  • Ensure sales and profitability data are accurately captured and reported.

Job Summary:

Provides accounting and financial support to ensure adequate internal controls and efficiency of procedures and processes within the Accounting department to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and accounting. Works closely with staff and management across the organization on various projects and initiatives to improve processes and procedures to further drive the growth and success of the company.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provides support to Accounting Management in processing month‑end close and account analysis, not limited to journal entries, G/L account reconciliations, budget vs. actual analysis, system balancing, and all other tasks required to close month‑end on a timely basis and maintain G/L account integrity.
  • Analyzes financial statements at a macro- and micro- level to identify and prepare entries not limited to accruals, deferrals, and adjustments within the financial statements.
  • Assists in audit preparations.
  • Assists in the development of accounting policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with federal law and internal control requirements.
  • Prepares federal, state, local sale tax reporting.
  • Manages the 1099 process.
  • Audits, investigates, reviews, and processes credit card prepayments monthly.
  • Ensures sales/profitability data is accurately captured and reported by identifying and troubleshooting unreconciled data.
  • Works closely with finance and non‑finance organizations (including but not limited to Field Sales, Marketing, HR, IT and National Account Sales) staff and management across the organization on various projects and initiatives.
  • Assists in preparation and review of internal reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
What You Need:
  • Possesses extensive knowledge and experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, codes, and concepts to ensure they are being followed. Has proven accounting experience in either the public or private sectors.
  • Ability to be self-sufficient across multiple projects; has successfully handled and prioritized multiple competing priorities and effectively manages deadlines.
  • Ability to solve complex Accounting issues and can perform complex analyses related to financial goals. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high‑volume environment Highly analytical and detail oriented with an inquisitive ability for problem solving.
  • Possesses and demonstrates solid business acumen. 3+ Years relevant work experience, public accounting experience is a plus.
  • CPA license or CPA exam eligible is a plus.

  • Advanced Excel skills required. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting of Finance.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak workloads or special projects.
  • Ability to manage the stress of a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the in‑person requirements of the team and/or business needs.
