Job summary

CFS in Chicago is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain the general ledger for a diverse portfolio of commercial and multifamily properties. You will prepare statements, lender packages, and owner reports, supporting monthly closes and financial analyses.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of accounting experience in commercial real estate.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and tax accounting principles.
• Experience with Yardi and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• CPA or active progress toward CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger for a portfolio of commercial and multifamily properties.
• Prepare financial statements, lender reporting packages, and owner reporting schedules.
• Participate in monthly close processes, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Assist with annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and real estate tax reconciliations.
• Support cash management activities, including bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
• Manage lease administration within Yardi and coordinate tenant improvement draw processes.
