About the Role

Heyday is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our expanding Accounting and Finance team. This role involves implementing new processes, performing reconciliations, and improving current systems that support our finance operations.

This is a remote position, preferably for candidates based in the New York City area, reporting directly to the Controller.

What You'll Do

1. Conduct weekly sales reconciliations to ensure accurate revenue capture.
2. Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
3. Manage lease accounting under ASC 842.
4. Handle sales tax submissions and reconciliations.
5. Collaborate with Retail Operations and Supply Chain on inventory activities, including stock counts and inventory adjustments.
6. Support the month-end close process by recording G/L journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and investigating reconciling items.
7. Assist the Controller with audit requests and provide explanations to auditors.
8. Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with company standards.
9. Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an accounting-related role.
• Prior experience in Multi-Unit Retail; franchise experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
• Netsuite experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems.
