Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a rapidly growing organization in North County San Diego to identify a Senior Staff Accountant. This role offers exposure to month-end close, project accounting, audits, financial reporting, and process improvements within a high-visibility environment.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, a strong GAAP background, and advanced Excel skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a publicly traded company environment.
• Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit workpapers.
• Exposure to project accounting, cost accounting, construction accounting, manufacturing accounting, or large-scale operational projects is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate financial fluctuations.
• Support project-based accounting initiatives, including tracking project costs, analyzing financial performance, and partnering with operational teams.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Assist with cash reporting and cash flow analysis.
• Support quarterly reviews and year-end audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and audit support packages.
• Participate in financial statement preparation and reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards as needed.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations, project managers, and leadership teams to provide financial insights and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiencies.
• Assist with special projects related to growth initiatives, system enhancements, and reporting improvements.

Pay Details: $38.46 to $44.67 per hour
