Pacific Staffing is recruiting a Senior Accountant for a rapidly growing organization . This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading core accounting functions, improving processes, and supporting a high-performing finance team. The Senior Accountant supports key financial operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit support. This role requires strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and the ability to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all accounting activities.
- Salary: $110K to $125K per year (DOE)
- Fully remote. Preferably be located in Northern California.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other general ledger transactions.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Support AP, AR, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other core accounting functions.
- Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Strengthen internal accounting controls, procedures, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial information.
- Take ownership of assigned accounting processes and consistently meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Proven ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and identify root causes.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and related functions).
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA a plus.
- Public accounting or Big Four experience highly desired.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or multi-location environment.
