Job summary

QuEra Computing Inc. is seeking a seasoned finance professional to play a pivotal role in the company’s financial health.

You will support the Finance department, ensuring compliance and providing strategic guidance to leadership, including oversight of accounting operations and regulatory reporting. The role requires extensive experience with US GAAP/SEC, treasury, payroll, and multi-currency finance, with collaboration across teams and a drive for process improvement.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Accounting or Finance; Advanced degree and/or CPA required.
• Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in a financial management role; public accounting or consulting experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
• Experience in treasury management, payroll processing, procurement, AP & expense reimbursement, and financial operations.
• Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost, Inventory, Government Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Payroll management: supervise and manage the global payroll function and ensure compliance.
• Lead financial reporting and compliance; ensure monthly close and reporting readiness.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting preparation.
• Support budget, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
• Develop internal controls and ensure segregation of duties.
• Maintain current accounting system and participate in future system needs selection.
• Coordinate annual audit process and tax/compliance activities.
• Work with Controller to support department goals; assist government grant submissions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Government Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Payroll Management: Supervise and manage the global payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee compensation. Oversee payroll compliance, including tax filings and reporting for all jurisdictions.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Lead the preparation and oversight of all financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS. Ensure timely monthly close processes, and drive the preparation for and implementation of necessary processes for financial reporting.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for complianceSupport budget and forecasting activities.Monitor and analyze financial performance.
• Develop and maintain internal control and ensure distinct separation of duties
• Maintaining current accounting system and help define future needs for the selection
• Create and coordinate the annual audit process.
• Oversee tax and compliance activities.
• Work closely with the Controller to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Support government grant submissions and proposals.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Accounting or Finance. Advanced degree and/or CPA required.
• Minimum of 4-7yrs of experience in a financial management role. Prior public accounting (Big 7) or Consulting experience required
• An extensive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
• Strong understanding of treasury management, payroll processing, procurement, AP and expense reimbursement, and financial operations.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, procurement systems, and Excel.
• Exposure to international financial operations and multi-currency accounting. Experience establishing and refining finance-related policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with grant proposal submissions and grant-related financial responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

The salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000

We consistently monitor external market data and update base salary ranges accordingly. We determine base compensation decisions on several factors, including as geographic placement, role-specific knowledge, skills, and/or experience. In addition to our base salary offerings, we also provide equity grants for all new hires.
