Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month-end workpapers.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation activity.
• Track prepaid expenses and amortization entries.

We are partnering with a well-established organization seeking a Senior Accountant for a part-time, 4-6 month contract engagement. This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can step in quickly, work independently, and support critical accounting and financial reporting functions.

The position offers a mix of month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting support, and special projects within a collaborative and fast-paced accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries related to month-end close, including accruals and prepaid expenses
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and investigate variances
• Review general ledger activity and ensure financial data accuracy
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month-end workpapers
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation activity
• Track prepaid expenses and prepare related amortization entries
• Support payroll accounting and associated journal entries
• Assist with lender reporting, compliance requirements, and financial analyses
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits and tax filings
• Support accounting for multiple entities and special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting principles
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working within ERP systems
• Yardi experience preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

• Multi-entity accounting experience
• Fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Audit support and financial reporting experience
• Yardi experience is highly desirable
• Real estate, property management, asset management, or corporate accounting background preferred
