Job summary

OptiFlow, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to assist the Controller with accounting and financial reporting. You will help ensure accuracy of results, maintain internal controls, and provide timely financial information to executives.

The role emphasizes partnering with operations and supply chain to improve cost control, working capital, and overall business performance. You will support audits, budgeting, and system improvements in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist day-to-day accounting operations: GL, AP, AR, inventory, fixed assets.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Analyze key accounts and prepare adjusting entries per U.S. GAAP.
  • Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors.

Job description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller with all accounting and financial reporting functions.This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial results, maintains strong internal controls, and supports executive leadership with timely, actionable financial information.

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in partnering with operations and supply chain to improve cost control, working capital, and overall business performance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in the performance of day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
  • Analyze key financial statement accounts and prepare adjusting entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, accounting principles and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Assist with coordinating annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and consultants.
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation consistent with company standards and compliance requirements.
Cost Accounting & Operations Support
  • Assist with standard cost development, variance analysis, and product margin reporting.
  • Work closely with operations managers to track production efficiency, material usage, and overhead absorption.
  • Provide financial analysis to support pricing, inventory management, and capital spending decisions.
  • Monitor and report on key manufacturing metrics and their financial impact.
Planning & Analysis
  • Support senior management in developing the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate them clearly to leadership.
  • Provide input into business strategy, investment planning, and performance improvement initiatives.
Controls, Systems & Compliance
  • Maintain strong internal control processes to protect company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and loan covenants.
  • Oversee financial systems (ERP and reporting tools) and ensure accurate integration between accounting and operations data.
  • Lead or support system improvement projects, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
Qualifications
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
Experience
  • Min six years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in cash and working capital management.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and GAAP accounting standards.
