Abbott in Alameda, CA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform a range of accounting activities in support of Abbott Diabetes Care and Lingo divisions within CFS. The role requires strong accounting knowledge and operational insight into finance systems and controls.

The position covers month-end close, journal entries, intercompany transfers, tax packages, and SOX compliance, with cross-functional collaboration and audits. 5+ years of experience and SAP proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• At least 5+ years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience with a large ERP system (SAP) and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute timely and accurate month-end close activities and journal entries.
• Perform intercompany transfers and account reconciliations.
• Provide guidance on master data requests and reporting to business partners.
• Prepare annual federal and state tax packages.
• Ensure SOX compliance and support internal/external audits.
• Maintain SOPs and support ad-hoc management requests.

The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
