Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Warehouse & Material Handling Supervisor to lead a team responsible for receipt, storage, and movement of materials within the facility. The role supports production and strives to improve quality and productivity in the Cardiac Rhythm Management division.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least two years in materials handling, warehousing, inventory control, and cycle counting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in materials handling, inventory control, warehousing and cycle counting.
  • Strong leadership and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee activities related to the receipt, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility.
  • Determine and direct manpower to meet site needs and minimize overtime.
  • Assist Materials Handlers in performing their tasks and help in completion of projects and department goals.
  • Ensure that customer needs are met and maintain service levels.
  • Lead the activities of assigned staff by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving department objectives and training.
  • Schedule human and material resources within a department or section in conjunction with near-term plans; manage operations within budget.

With general guidance from functional management, responsible for providing team leadership to a group of employees responsible for activities related to the receipt, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility. Supports the needs of production. Identifies and analyzes problems, plans tasks and solutions. Provides guidance to team on development, performance & productivity issues. Strives to increase quality and productivity.
