Job summary

Redmont Capital seeks a Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of clients across industries, functioning as their accounting team without payroll. You’ll own monthly closes, analyze P&L, and build Excel-based models while maintaining tight internal controls.

You’ll manage deadlines, work across acquisitions, and help with budgets, forecasts, and cash flow. Strong GAAP knowledge, detail orientation, and communication are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong command of P&L management and GAAP.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for each assigned client.
• Prepare and analyze P&L statements and financial packages for each client, flagging trends, variances, and areas of concern.
• Build and maintain financial models and reports in Excel, tailored to each client's business.
• Manipulate, clean, and analyze data sets to support client reporting and decision-making.
• Prioritize and manage competing deadlines across multiple clients without dropping the ball.
• Support clients through acquisitions and other transactions — purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, integrating acquired entities into reporting, and related due diligence support.
• Help maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with each client's needs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking for clients.
• Communicate directly with client contacts to answer questions and provide financial insights.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements across client accounts.
• Suggest process improvements as you get familiar with each client's workflows.
• Take on ad hoc projects and problem-solve in a lean, resource-conscious environment.
• Help onboard new clients, getting up to speed on their books, systems, and reporting needs quickly.

Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong command of P&L management and core accounting principles (GAAP)
• Experience with or exposure to acquisition/transaction accounting (purchase accounting, due diligence, integration) a strong plus
• Advanced Excel skills — comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and large data sets
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills — proven ability to manage multiple clients/priorities at once without losing accuracy or missing deadlines
• An entrepreneurial mindset — you're not afraid of a fast-moving, sometimes unstructured environment and you take initiative without waiting to be told
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills — able to build trust and translate numbers into insights for clients
