Job description

We are a 50,000,000+ PE back growth business with a small accounting team. This role reports to the controller and owns the monthly close process, reconciliations, reviews exceptions, and most importantly investigates items that do not make sense.

Our recurring monthly reviews run on saved searches, scripts, and workflows already built in NetSuite so you won’t need to rebuild reports.

Role Description

The Senior Accountant is a full-time role based in Addison, IL with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. This position is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings. The Senior Accountant will perform account reconciliations, vendor rebate submissions, and sales and use tax filings prepared from NetSuite reports. Daily tasks include analyzing variances, maintaining internal controls, supporting audits, and providing financial insights to management.

The Team

The company does have a dedicated accounts payable, billing, and collection staff, but we cover each other when there is need. This role will also help them out with more complex issues they may have.

Qualifications

• Strong general accounting skills, including experience with general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency and finding out why a number is wrong and be able to trace it back to root cause
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting software (NetSuite a huge +) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices, with experience supporting internal or external audits.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a hybrid environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
