Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an experienced sales professional for an expatriate assignment in Japan, focusing on direct sales of mission-critical communications to U.S. DoD accounts in the Eastern US region. This position requires relocation for a minimum of three years and entails extensive travel.

The role demands a technical background in RF communications and public safety software platforms, strong DoD/federal experience, and a proven track record closing major sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of sales, customer success, public safety and/or military experience.
• OR 8+ years of sales, customer success, public safety and/or military experience.
• Technical background including RF communications and First Responder software platforms (CAD, RMS, E911, Video).
• Experience selling to DoD/Federal agencies and ability to obtain security clearance.

• Identify diverse customer needs and map Motorola Solutions portfolio to satisfy them.
• Build strong relationships and customer knowledge by understanding the business model.

Job Description

THIS IS AN EXPATRIATE ROLE LOCATED IN JAPAN. THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL REQUIRE THE CANDIDATE TO RELOCATE FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS.

Responsibilities

• Direct sales of communications systems to U.S. Federal Government DoD accounts in Eastern US region


• Identifies diverse customer needs, and understand how our product portfolio can be applied to satisfy these needs


• Build strong relationships and customer knowledge by understanding the Motorola Solutions business model


• Using the vision, strategy, and tools available, the candidate will become a trusted adviser to the customer and partners


• Candidates will learn, develop, and be capable of clearly articulating account specific strategies for all Motorola solutions


• Develop and enhance strong customer relationships across multiple levels and functions


• Orchestrate and lead the extended Motorola team to understand the account's strategy, business imperatives, and top opportunities


• Allocate appropriate resources, and obtain full collaboration of internal product groups and external partners as necessary to meet the needs of key accounts

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of sales, customer success, public safety and/or military experience


• OR 8+ years of sales, customer success, public safety and/or military experience


• A technical background to include RF communications, First Responder software application platforms (CAD, RMS, E911, Video) strongly desired


• Prior experience in technical roles selling into or working for the various Department of Defense Services and or Federal Law Enforcement Agencies


• Excellent communication, sales, and writing skills are required


• Must have a demonstrated track record of closing major sales


• An understanding of the proposal process with proposal assembly experience preferred


• Working knowledge of IP networking, Information Assurance and or Cyber Security a plus


• Must be a self-motivated problem solver


• An ideal candidate will be able to help customers envision solutions, services, and applications


• Solid working knowledge of Salesforce.com, Google Productivity Suite is strongly desired


• Development and execution of sales and go-to-market strategies in a highly collaborative environment is imperative


• Must be self-reliant and able to work effectively from a remote office


• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.

Travel:

• Must be able and willing to travel 50% - 75% within territory

Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000 USD

On Target Earnings: $148,500 - $156,750 USD

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
