Job summary

CenterPoint Marketing is seeking a Senior Account Manager in the Minneapolis area to lead a strategic book of business in the fast-paced trade show industry.

You will drive revenue growth, collaborate cross-functionally, and own client relationships from strategy through execution, ensuring brand alignment and successful events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, PR, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of account management and/or project management in the tradeshow industry.
  • Tradeshow or event experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, define and manage a book of business, driving revenue growth through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Uncover new sales opportunities and grow existing client relationships into long-term partnerships.
  • Own client relationships and day-to-day project execution with timely communication.
  • Collaborate with design and internal teams to define strategy, budgets and objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, invoices, and payment terms; resolve billing disputes.
  • Evaluate ROI with clients and propose optimizations for future events.

We are seeking a strategic Senior Account Manager to join our team in the fast-paced trade show industry. This person will be a strategic sales professional focused on delivering exceptional customer service, innovation, and thoughtful client solutions. Main responsibilities include developing, defining and managing a book of business, driving positive revenue growth and collaborating with cross-functional internal and external teams to identify and respond promptly to client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, define and manage a book of business, driving positive revenue growth through cross functional collaboration and strategic execution of client projects.
  • Unearth new sales opportunities and grow existing relationships, cultivating long-term partnerships.
  • Lead day-to-day business objectives and manage on-going expectations for current clients through clear, accurate, and timely communication.
  • Serve as primary client contact, owning the overall relationship while driving day to day project execution.
  • Facilitate communication between clients, internal departments and vendor partners.
  • Collaborate with clients to define their tradeshow marketing strategy and present creative design and budget proposals, assuring all components are aligned with brand and project objectives.
  • Lead meetings with the account team to discuss upcoming work, review current work and identify additional immediate needs.
  • Collaborate with the Design team to develop and present creative design concepts and budget proposals to clients.
  • Manage multiple complex projects, while navigating schedule changes, critical deadlines, and unexpected challenges.
  • Monitor client project costs and ensure healthy company profit margins.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the clients’ inventory, graphics and booth assets.
  • Continuously develop and utilize expertise of client trade show and event strategy to support effective day to day project execution.
  • Negotiate contracts, invoices, secure payment terms and resolve billing disputes.
  • Evaluate tradeshow Return on Investment (ROI) with clients and make constructive recommendations for future events.
  • Model and promote company core values – Individuals, Service, Excellence, Integrity, Accountability, Teamwork, Innovation – across all interactions and work activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams cross functionally, drive accountability, and deliver high quality results.
  • Outstanding client relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Established experience leading complex projects, combining strong project management capabilities with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect and engage with a variety of personalities
  • Ability to effectively manage budgets for multiple projects with an emphasis on meeting and exceeding revenue and margin goals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess strong problem solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions independently, anticipate obstacles, and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently lead teams, delegate effectively, and provide coaching across all levels.
  • Possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, specifically in a fast paced and high pressure environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and other internal software/systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of client trade show and event objectives to provide strategic and personalized solutions.
  • Travel to client tradeshow/events required with ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or other equivalent area of study; or comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
  • 7-10 years account management/project management experience in the Tradeshow industry.
  • Tradeshow or event experience required.
