Copeland is seeking a motivated and technically skilled professional to join our Channel Services team as a Senior Account Executive. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of Copeland in the Central Midwest region, working within the HVAC industry. As a Senior Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening relationships with our authorized wholesaler network and contractors, focusing on both Air Conditioning and Refrigeration fields, such as Food Retail, Food Service, and Commercial/Residential Air Conditioning. You will be responsible for driving the adoption of Copeland products and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to our customers. This is a field-based role with a focus on providing world-class customer service, technical expertise, and driving Copeland’s market share across your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Achieve and exceed sales targets for assigned wholesaler headquarters and branch locations within your territory.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth technical knowledge and support on Copeland products, including compressors, condensing units, and parts, to both wholesalers and contractors.
  • Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Product Forecasting & Reporting: Actively participate in headquarter meetings with wholesalers, providing valuable insights on product forecasts and contributing to the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process.
  • Competitor Analysis: Gather information and conduct competitive benchmarking to understand market trends and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Training & Education: Lead both in-person and hybrid training sessions on Copeland products, assisting wholesalers and contractors in increasing their technical knowledge. Promote and contribute to the Copeland Technical Training Program.
  • Customer Service & Escalation Management: Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring swift resolution and fostering a positive customer experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, marketing, product planning, and engineering, to deliver world-class solutions and meet customer needs.
  • Salesforce Management: Maintain up-to-date records of customer information, projects, and competitive intelligence within Salesforce.
  • Market Development: Identify and capitalize on new product opportunities in compression and refrigeration condensing units to expand Copeland's presence in your territory.

Requirements:

  • Sales Experience: Background in technical sales within Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, with a solid understanding of Refrigeration systems and components.
  • Prior experience as a technician in the Refrigeration industry is highly preferred.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently (up to 50%) for customer visits and occasionally to corporate headquarters for sales meetings and events.
  • Product Knowledge: In-depth technical understanding of Copeland and competitor products, with the ability to effectively communicate and educate others.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities to engage with customers, wholesalers, and contractors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Decision-Making: Strong decision-making, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Resilience: Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain focus on results, knowing when to escalate issues to your supervisor.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary/pay range for this role is $110,000-$130,000 base + bonus, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
