Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Accessibility Specialist III in Austin to perform highly complex accessibility work across digital content, including web pages, mobile apps and software interfaces. You will plan and lead testing projects, remediate defects, and deliver technical training to program staff on accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum three years of full-time experience in EIR (Electronic Information Resources).
• Preferred five+ years of experience in accessibility roles.
• One year of education may substitute for a year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct accessibility testing across web, mobile and software interfaces.
• Remediate accessibility defects and prepare remediation HTML code examples.
• Develop training and guidance for staff on accessibility standards.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee complex testing projects.
• Prepare reports with findings and actionable remediation plans.
