Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law seeks a Senior Assistant Director of Academic Success and Bar Readiness. Under supervision, you will design and execute academic support programs, assist at‑risk students and students on probation, and teach bar elective courses as requested.

The role requires a JD from an ABA‑accredited school, bar passage, and the ability to coordinate tutorials, supervise tutors, and report data while collaborating with faculty to improve student

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA approved law school.
• Bar passage by examination in any US jurisdiction.
• Ability to remediate academic performance and provide student advising.

Responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one advising to at‑risk students and those on probation.
• Offer skills‑based instruction and supervise bar readiness workshops.
• Teach one or more bar elective courses per semester.
• Design and coordinate academic support tutorials.
• Supervise student tutors and graduate assistants; manage time sheets.
• Perform statistical reporting on attendance, participation, and outcomes.
• Plan 1L orientation and assist with outreach to students in need.
• Communicate department events and manage academic support resources.
