Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking an experienced AC Mitigation Modeler to lead AC interference analyses, mitigation design, and implementation for pipeline, utility, and energy infrastructure projects.

You will model, design, and field-validate mitigation systems while mentoring engineers and coordinating with clients and field teams. The role requires 8+ years in AC mitigation, cathodic protection, and pipeline integrity, with PE or AMPP/NACE CP-4 certification and proficiency in SES CDEGS or Elsyca IRIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or AMPP/NACE CP-4 certification.
• 8+ years of experience in AC mitigation, cathodic protection, corrosion engineering, or pipeline integrity.
• Advanced proficiency with SES CDEGS and/or Elsyca IRIS.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic induction, electrical grounding, AC interference analysis, and cathodic protection principles.
• Experience developing and defending engineering models.
• Strong technical writing and report preparation skills.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding schedules.
• Experience supporting construction and field implementation.

Responsibilities

• AC Mitigation Engineering & Modeling: develop, analyze, and validate AC interference models using SES CDEGS and/or Elsyca IRIS.
• AC mitigation design of grounding, decoupling, gradient control, and related protection systems.
• Populate calculations and evaluations to support safe mitigation designs.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings, and documentation.
• Defend analyses with clients, stakeholders, and regulators.
• Field Support & Data Collection: conduct field investigations, data collection, validation, and obtain OQs.
• Cathodic Protection & Integrity Support: assist design, evaluation, and troubleshooting of CP systems.
• Technical Leadership: mentor engineers, review deliverables, and support BD through technical presentations.
• Project management and cross-team collaboration to meet schedules.
