Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior AC Mitigation Engineer to join our Corrosion Prevention team in Houston. You will model complex pipeline and powerline geometries, design AC mitigation and CP systems, and perform third-party reviews of related reports and data.

You will conduct fieldwork, develop detailed designs, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with drafting and clients. This is a hybrid role with travel as needed and emphasis on safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering with a focus on grounding, EMI, or interference
• Licensed P.Eng. or eligible to obtain licensure (EIT/P.Eng. candidates with relevant experience will be considered)
• Experience in AC interference mitigation (3–5+ years preferred)
• Experience with SES CDEGS software is highly desirable; transferable modelling skills acceptable

Responsibilities

• Modelling of complex pipeline and powerline geometries using CDEGS
• Design of AC mitigation systems to reduce risk to personnel and pipeline integrity
• Assessment of CP and AC interference survey data
• Design AC and DC interference mitigation systems
• Third party reviews of CP and AC interference designs and reports
• Engineering calculations (resistance, current distribution, ground potential rise)
• Coordinate installation of AC mitigation and CP systems
• Develop detailed designs and collaborate with drafting
• Field work including soil resistivity testing and right-of-way evaluations
• Prepare technical assessment and design reports and update criteria as needed
• Maintain positive client relationships and comply with EH&S and quality standards
• Travel may be required; hybrid work with preferred Houston location
