Job description

Job Overview

We are PHI Health, a leading air ambulance provider in the United States, seeking an A&P‑licensed aircraft mechanic with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Aircraft Mechanic to work on our helicopters. The role ensures our state‑of‑the‑art fleet is always mission ready, handling maintenance, inspections, and repairs of both airframe and powerplant components while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate daily maintenance or inspection requirements and carry out tasks to maintain the airworthiness of the aircraft.
• Notify Lead Mechanic of unusual situations requiring schedule changes, aircraft changes, extra manpower, or technical assistance.
• At a field base, maintain all assigned aircraft, review stock levels, and requisition spares as necessary to complete repairs.
• Ensure the safety and security of all company assets at the field base.
• Prepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and personally certify on aircraft logs and related inspection and maintenance forms that work completed meets FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health requirements.
• Comply with RAMCO entries such as work packages, status sheets, removals, and installs in the physical structure.
• Maintain close communication with Lead Mechanic, AMBS, and other agents to ensure effective and timely job completion.
• Maintain parts inventory and recommend level changes when necessary.
• Maintain company‑provided special tools and ensure calibration is performed as scheduled.
• Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic.
• Basic communications skills.
• Computer skills required.
• Must pass a pre‑placement physical exam including functional capacity, lift up to 100pounds, drug screening, and background screen.
• For PHI Roving Maintenance Team mechanics: sheet metal repair and/or avionics troubleshooting/repair skills.
• Must be able to travel frequently, sometimes with short notice during regularly scheduled hitches.
• Must be able to work night shifts when maintenance events dictate.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive pay, shift bonuses, shift incentives, annual safety bonus, annual employee bonus, and a sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule / Location

7×7 schedule. Candidates must live within a one‑hour drive or 60miles of the base (whichever is greater). Travel between bases is required.
