Hiscox USA is seeking a dynamic Sr. Underwriter to drive new professional liability business and complex renewals in the East Coast region. Write policies for architects, engineers, contractors and developers, across GL, E&O and occasional cyber. Role involves pricing, negotiation, mentorship, and broker collaboration.

Location includes New York, Boston, Hartford and more; travel up to 25% is required. A strong customer focus and proven underwriting profitability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in contractors, real estate developers and design professional E&O coverage.
• Customer-centric mindset and passionate about superior customer service.
• Strong understanding of sales principles, presentation, negotiation skills.
• Team-oriented, able to collaborate across divisions to reach goals.
• Proven track record of underwriting profit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel East Coast up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, price and negotiate accounts per guidelines and strategy.
• Develop broker relationships across the East Coast to drive production.
• Collaborate with national A&E team and mentor junior teammates.
• Maintain high customer service standards.
• Lead in-office quoting days with top broker partners.
• Monitor product results and drive productivity/profitability.
• Exceed minimum quote output targets set by A&E manager.
• Occasional travel to industry events and broker visits.
• Support regional growth initiatives.
