Based in the Greater Boston area, the attorney will coordinate with regional teams, manage complex government contracts, and guide international expansion while prioritizing risk and speed

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information or facilities.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and active license to practice in at least one US jurisdiction.
• At least 9 years of legal experience focused on U.S. federal government contracting.
• Experience with international defense business is a plus.
• Expertise in the FAR, DFARS, and related government contracting regulations; semiconductor experience a plus.
• Experience supporting government contracts across multiple lifecycle phases.
• Experience working on international/cross-border matters; coordination with regional legal teams.
• Executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders in real time on complex legal, regulatory, and business tradeoffs.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal advisor to ADEF, shaping legal strategy on critical business, regulatory, and transactional matters.
• Provide business-focused legal counsel enabling speed while balancing risk in regulated environments.
• Advise business unit and sales leaders on customer-facing legal and contract strategy.
• Lead negotiation strategy for long-term supply and development agreements.
• Serve as senior legal authority on U.S. government contracting and related flow-down issues.
• Direct legal strategy for international expansion outside the United States.
• Lead legal guidance on FAR/DFARS, export controls, trade compliance, sanctions, data handling, security.
• Lead legal strategy for contract claims and disputes.
