Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. in Penrose, CO is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer to program, set up, and operate advanced 5‑axis CNC equipment for aerospace-grade parts.

You will develop SolidWorks CAM programs, model fixtures, and optimize toolpaths to meet tight tolerances on exotic alloys. The role includes validating safety and aiding the transition to a new automation-focused facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of CNC experience OR Associate’s degree with 3 years OR 8 years hands‑on CNC experience in lieu of degree.
• Expert‑level proficiency in SolidWorks CAM, including 5-axis milling, mill-turn, machine model building, and custom control file development.
• Experience machining exotic alloys (Inconel, Titanium, Stainless Steel) to tight tolerances.
• Hands‑on experience with live-tooling lathes with Y-axis capability and multi-axis programming/setup.
• Strong self‑starter with ability to solve complex machining problems with minimal supervision in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Eligible to pass FBI/DoD background check and obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create efficient SolidWorks CAM programs for complex 5-axis mill and mill-turn operations.
• Design and model fixtures, work holding, and production tooling in SolidWorks.
• Program, set up, and operate live-tooling lathes with Y-axis capability.
• Execute true 5-axis strategies with toolpath optimization and collision checking.
• Develop manufacturing processes from drawing to finished part; refine programs for first-part success.
• Build and maintain machine models and simulate multi-axis setups for safety and accuracy.
• Support transition to new aerospace-capable facility and contribute to automation efforts.
