Job summary

Waymo in the United States is seeking a senior ML engineer for the Simulator Team to design and deploy 4D world models and generative systems for realistic sensor and semantics generation used in simulation.

You will build scalable ML pipelines, work with video generation tech, apply Vision Language Models, and collaborate with research and production teams while mentoring others in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of ML engineering and deep learning experience with shipped products or publications.
• Experience with large-scale generative models for video or Vision Language Models (VLMs).
• Strong background in 3D world modeling and 3D computer vision.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of 4D world models and generative systems for simulation use cases.
• Architect scalable ML pipelines for training, evaluating and deploying large models.
• Build production-ready video generation techniques (Diffusion, Flow Matching) for dynamic environments.
• Apply Vision Language Models to enhance semantic understanding and controllability.
• Collaborate with research teams across Waymo and Alphabet to productionize state-of-the-art work.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers on the team.
