Job summary

Waymo is looking for a seasoned ML Engineer to design and deploy evaluation approaches for state-of-the-art multimodel world simulations. You will build robust pipelines to tune and evaluate large-scale discriminator models that measure simulator realism.

You will collaborate with research teams at Waymo and Alphabet, apply generative AI advances, and mentor junior engineers to deliver production-grade solutions for autonomous systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, ML, robotics, or related field.
• Five+ years of experience in ML engineering or applied deep learning with shipped products or publications.
• Proficient in Python and ML frameworks such as JAX, Flax, or PyTorch.
• Experience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of evaluation approaches for realism of multimodal world models and simulations.
• Architect scalable ML pipelines for tuning, evaluating, and deploying large-scale discriminator models for simulation realism.
• Evaluate video generation and 4D world modeling techniques for realism and controllability.
• Apply vision-language models to assess semantic understanding across world simulation products.
• Collaborate with Waymo and Alphabet research teams to integrate advancements into production systems.
• Mentor engineers on architecture and execution.
