Job summary

Aboon, a remote-friendly provider of AI-powered 401(k) plan administration, seeks a Senior Plan Administrator, Compliance Services. You will lead advanced testing, data management, filings, and consulting on complex plan design while collaborating with Relationship Managers and the Plan Administration team.

You will enforce compliance, mentor colleagues, and help automate processes to improve accuracy and efficiency across the annual cycle. This role is fully remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of defined contribution plan administration with a heavy compliance focus.
• Deep working knowledge of ERISA Title I and Internal Revenue Code Sections 401(a), 401(k), 401(m), 410(b), 414(s), 415, and 416 as applied to defined contribution plans.
• Hands-on experience with advanced nondiscrimination testing techniques.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Forms 5500, 5330, and 8955-SSA.
• Advanced Excel skills, including troubleshooting data discrepancies and reconciling census information.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with ftwilliam, Google Workspace, and task and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual nondiscrimination and compliance testing and monitor limits.
• Calculate employer contributions across pro rata, integrated, and new comparability formulas.
• Determine compensation for testing and contribution purposes, including self-employed income calculations.
• Determine correction methods for failed tests and calculate corrections (ADP/ACP refunds, QNEC/QMAC).
• Monitor compliance deadlines and deliverables across the annual cycle.
• Review incoming census and payroll data; resolve discrepancies; reconcile statements.
