Job summary

Ofinno in Reston, VA, seeks a 3GPP Standards Engineer to shape future wireless standards. You will contribute to global radio specifications, promote IP, and collaborate with 3GPP and related bodies to advance next‑gen radio access technologies.

The role involves leading invention development, designing L1/L2 components, running simulations to validate concepts, and presenting findings to clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years participating in 3GPP standardization activities, especially RAN1/RAN2.
• Experience leading IP creation in 3GPP contexts.
• Strong understanding of 5G NR and next‑gen wireless tech.
• Ability to write, research, and communicate complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 3GPP standardization meetings within RAN1 or RAN2 groups.
• Lead creation and promotion of IP and 3GPP proposals.
• Develop inventions and expand IP portfolio.
• Define and evaluate concepts for future radio technologies and standards.
• Design and develop L1/L2 components aligned with specs; use simulations to validate ideas.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align research with business goals.
• Present findings and proposals to clients and industry partners.
