Job summary

TALENT Software Services seeks a 3D Print Technician/Operator III in Newton, NC to support cleanroom optical ribbon and fiber optic cable manufacturing. The role involves hands-on technical work, process expertise, equipment troubleshooting, design support, and production scale-up in a fast-growing setting.

Applicants should have hands-on experience in 3D modelling, design, printing, and testing of mechanical components, and the ability to service and diagnose 3D printing equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
• Extensive experience and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor 3D Modelling or SolidWorks.
• Historical hands‑on experience in 3D modelling, design, printing and testing mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, specifications, and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and starting ribbon lines to support Installation team efforts.
• Design & implement mechanical solutions and process changes to improve capability of manufacturing equipment.
• Solve mechanical and process issues through data analysis, experience, and collaboration with subject matter experts.
• Manage spare part identification and storeroom entry as recommended by suppliers or peer engineers; noting available spares within (2)-plant footprint.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
• Collaborate with other departments to implement process improvements.
• Create, print and test 3D models in Autodesk Inventor modeling software.
• Collaborate with team members to develop, implement, test and integrate equipment to optimize production processes.
• Support preventive maintenance and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Assist with new equipment installation, process transfers, and plant expansion efforts.
